OH BABY!
OH BABY!
Welcome to the first post! Many of our friends
and family who are reading this are aware that we are expecting a little one in
October! Because I know (literally) nothing about being pregnant, or having a
baby, I've begun reading and doing some research. Through some of my web
searches, I came across a blog that a woman did to keep track of her pregnancy,
and I loved the idea! You can check her block out here.
We have friends and
family all across the globe who cannot be with us everyday to see how things
are going, so this is our way of communicating our journey to all of you.
Also, this will be a great keepsake for us as time passes to remember all the
little details along the way.
HOW IT ALL STARTED ~
I had started working out with trainer Walter Norton Jr at Institute of Performance Fitness in Andover, MA in the 'Early Riser' group (5:15am). I have worked out with Walter in the past, and I knew that this was intense, but worth it! As the website says, it's "The Toughest Training You'll Ever Love!", and it's true. No, I don't like waking up at 4:30, three days a week, but once you're there with the amazing, supportive people in the morning group, you forget that it's so early, and just feel great the rest of the day!
I began my first workout on January 27, 2012. As the weeks past, I notice how tired I was. I would get to work and I couldn't imagine how I was going to get through the day! I also noticed ... I was ... late! I'm never late ... but instead of jumping to conclusions, I just assumed that the tiredness, and the missed cycle was due to the workout intensity and the major change in my routine. Mid February came, and I was still cycle-less, so I told Dave that I would try to take a test.
Well ... I didn't really know what I was doing, so when I saw one bold line, and one faint line, I couldn't figure out if it was positive or not. I thought maybe the test was broken, so I took another one, but ended up with the same result! Dave was sure it was false ... he said "look at the differences in the two lines!" ... no one ever talks about faint/strong lines, so I didn't know what I was looking at. I just figured it was a mistake and that the tests were negative.
So ... another week passed :) ... time for another test!! This time, I bought a test that had a plus sign, thinking that perhaps a new brand would solve my apparent mental issues! It came back with a definite plus sign, but still, one line a little more faint than the other. Dave still couldn't believe it!! I think he was too nervous to get his hopes up!... yes people, three tests were not enough to prove to him that we were in for the ride of our lives!
I scheduled an appointment with an OB doctor, and all test came pack, POSITIVE! I think this is when Dave finally started to believe it was true! Buckle up, baby, cuz here we go!! :)
Lisa! Congrats! I had my little one last October, so I found out I was pregnant around the same time as you did, only a year ago! Such exciting news. You will be an amazing mom!
